Retired - reference only

Generic TNM Recorder (Retired)

Retired reference page for the former external TNM transcription utility. It did not derive or validate a cancer stage, and its interactive controls have been removed.

Why the former tool was retired

The former route did not calculate or validate TNM. It only repeated text from an external record, and repeated production-browser testing found unreliable date-control behavior. Keeping an interactive form could imply that submitted components or a stage group had been checked against disease-specific rules when they had not. The controls were therefore removed.

What the former route did

  • Stored externally assigned T, N, M, and stage-group text without deriving any component.
  • Did not select or validate a cancer-site, histology, authority, edition, or classification-moment schema.
  • Did not assign prognosis, severity, treatment benefit, or management recommendations.

Use an authoritative staging source

Confirm TNM and stage group against the applicable cancer-site and histology rules from the responsible authority and edition. AJCC Version 9 protocols are introduced by disease site, while UICC editions are separate classifications; neither can be safely represented by a universal local recorder.

This page does not store a patient record, calculate T/N/M, infer a stage group, validate external staging semantics, estimate prognosis, or recommend treatment.

Calculation verification history

Verified retirement
  1. : Interactive recorder retired

    • Preserved the permanent /calculator/tnm-generic URL while removing every input, Calculate/Reset control, result workflow, and active dynamic loader.
    • The former route only transcribed external TNM text and did not derive or validate site-specific staging; repeated production-browser testing also found unreliable first-submission date controls.
    • The fail-closed reference returns one immutable Not calculated / Retired result for all direct calls and directs users to the applicable disease-site, authority, edition, and classification-moment source.

Retirement implementation verification only; historical recorder and production-browser findings remain retained below.

  2. : Production browser revalidation

    • Three source-backed cases exercised complete, partial T-only, and outside-scope records through visible production controls; partial and outside-scope records passed.
    • Nullable component and metadata controls now reach the strict recorder, and an identical supplemental complete-record reproduction returned the expected T2a N1 M0 | Stage IIIA result.
    • Browser status remains failed-control: the first complete submission after navigation cleared both entered dates and reported them required; no console error occurred.

Case-level evidence and reproduction are retained in validation/browser-revalidation/tnm-generic-2026-08-03.json.

  3. : Local browser remediation verified; production retest pending

    • Ten source-backed cases passed through visible controls on the corrected local route across 11 submissions.
    • Native date input events now retain diagnosis and classification dates through subsequent edits and calculation. Nullable metadata and stage-group fields reach the strict recorder as null when absent.
    • Complete, partial, unverified, AJCC, UICC, outside-scope, reversed-date, and reset/repeat paths matched contract v1.0. The original production findings remain open until deployment and public revalidation.

Case-level local remediation evidence is retained in validation/browser-production/tnm-generic.local-remediation.json.

  4. : Production browser validation

    • Ten source-backed cases were exercised on the public production route through visible browser controls; 0/10 case records passed their expected-versus-observed assertions across 24 visible submissions.
    • Overall browser status: failed-calculation-ui-and-console. critical: Both ISO date controls visibly retained entered values before submission, but clicking Calculate cleared both controls and reported each as required. This blocked every otherwise fully populated record. | high: All 19 controls are marked required, including authority label, optional T/N/M and stage-group fields, dates, and schema/classification metadata that the recorder contract explicitly permits to be blank in partial, incomplete, and outside-scope states. | medium: Production emitted minified React error #418 during route loads/reloads used by this run.
    • Case-level inputs, expected and observed results, reset/repeat behavior, failure reproductions, and console evidence are retained in the production-browser evidence record.

Case-level production evidence is retained in validation/browser-production/tnm-generic.json.

  5. : Recorder identity and input contract corrected

    • Replaced the defaulted universal AJCC 8th-edition pseudo-staging tool with a strict 19-key recorder for externally assigned source-specific TNM records.
    • Added exact schema authority/version, dates, classification moment, provenance, component, and external stage-group gates without deriving site semantics.
  6. : Full recorder implementation validation completed

    • Passed 3,072 deterministic assertions using a separately encoded literal recorder oracle and injected evaluation clock.
    • Verified immutable exact inputs, neutral status precedence, no stage inference, UI/static contracts, sources, workbook/evidence mirrors, generated assets, registry, ledger, and direct glossary parity.

Software implementation verification only; not clinical validation of any externally assigned TNM classification.

Verification confirms the fail-closed retirement behavior, permanent reference route, source wording, and history. It does not reproduce or clinically validate the historical nomogram.
