The MACIS score (Metastasis, Age, Completeness of resection, Invasion, Size) predicts cause-specific survival in patients with papillary thyroid cancer. It is one of the most reliable prognostic scoring systems for well-differentiated thyroid cancer.
Formula Logic
Score = 3.1 (if age < 40) or 0.08 x age (if ≥ 40) + 0.3 x size (cm) + 1 (if incompletely resected) + 1 (if locally invasive) + 3 (if distant mets).Reference Data
